ABOUT SIMON

In his own words....

I wanted to be a photographer for as long as I can remember. I can vividly recall receiving a polaroid camera on an early birthday and being amazed as the small white square of film transformed into a picture of my feet. things have moved on of course. I don't take photo's of my own feet (or anyone elses for that matter) any more. Since the development of digital camera's (and laterly smart phones and tablets) the photographic world has become more and more accessible to more and more people. Not everyone can take a photograph though. That may seem a strange thing to say given the fact that everyone has a means of taking a photograph in their pockets or handbags these days. There is however, a world of difference between a snap and a true photograph. It is my absolute belief that a photograph should always evoke an emotion in the viewer. Good or bad, happy or sad.

My promise to you as your photographer is that my photographs will stir your emotions. I will capture the day as it happens; from the excitement and nerves of getting ready, the elation and happiness of the ceremony itself, the fun and laughter of the wedding breakfast and speeches and the celebration and joy of the reception. My wife always laughs at me when, before I deliver the finished photo's to the couple, I say to her: "...I hope I make them cry." It may sound horrible but that's honestly what I hope for...tears of joy. I am proud to say I have even managed to make the most stone hearted men cry!

I fuse journalistic and contemporary photography. To put a bit more meat on those bones - I photograph the day primarily from behind the scenes. I feel this is the best way to capture the true story of the day. Hopefully for the most part you won't even realise I'm there. I do like to offer a personal photoshoot on location (this is purely voluntary so don't panic.) This usually consists of me, both of you, my camera, lights and the beauty of the location. Depending on the setting, surrounding and weather conditions I generally incorporate my lights to give the photo's a modern "popped" feel.

I am available for weddings throughout the North West.  Please have a browse through the site and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions that are not on the FAQ's.

Thanks for visiting the site and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
